1.Rice :60 gms 2.Moong dal: 50 gms 3.Curd : 100 gms 4.Tomato, Green Chili,Onions : 100 gms ( Propotion of these can be altered as per taste required ) 5.Cold pressed Coconut Oil : 10gms (Can be replaced with Ghee or Olive oil) 6.Himalayan Pink Salt,Jeera and Pepper powder as per taste required
Soak Moon dal and Rice together for mins . Finely chop Tomatoes, Onions and Chillies .In a pressure cooker, Heat Cold pressed coconut oil and add Jeera or mustard seeds, allow it to crackle . Add onions and chillies and wait for onion to turn translucent Add tomato to seasoning and cook for to minutes . Add soaked rice and moong dal and saute well . Add half a tea spoon of Jeera powder and Pepper powder mix it well ( Can add crushed Jeera and Pepper corns) . Add cups of water and salt to taste,allow cooker to whisle to times . Serve the Kichidi hot with Curd.
