Toor daal ( pigeon pea) -30 g
Moong daal (Green gram) -20 g
Salt
For tadka - cumin, mustard, curry leaves, dry chilies
Coriander leaves
Oil -3 g
Wipe lentils on slightly moist cloth and air dry them
Dry roast them just to remove moisture and easy to grind in the mixer Do not roast them until golden , it will change the taste
Let it cool to room temperature , then grind them in the mixer coarsely ( like fine sooji texture)
Brush g oil in the non stick pan , add tadka ingredients of your choice like curry leaves, cumin, mustard seeds,asafoetida , dried chilli etc See that every ingredient is dry and crispy No moisture left Switch off the flame
Add ground lentil powder to it and mix well , premix is ready Do not add salt to it at this point Store it in airtight container Keep in refrigerator if you have humid weather for better shelf life
To prepare daal from instant premix - Mix water and premix in the pan nicely ( cup for g premix ) add salt and cook it on medium heat till it thickens Keep stirring Garnish with fresh coriander leaves Done !
