Ingredients: 1. Moong dal (35g) 2. Wheat flour (50g) 3. Soy flour (40g) 4. Ghee (10g) 5. Garlic (1/2 tsp) 6. Ginger (1/2 tsp) 7. Cumin seeds (1/2 tsp) 8. Mustard seeds (1/2 tsp) 9. Dried red chilli (1 piece) 10. Asafoetida (1pinch) 11. Salt to taste 12. Coriander (as per liking) 13. Red chilli powder (1/2 tsp) 14. Turmeric powder (1/2 tsp) 15. Curry leaves (4 leaves) 16. Tomato (1/2)
Recipe: . Wash the dal thoroughly and pressure cook it with water for whistles. Then turn off the gas. Let it stay in the cooker. . Meanwhile knead the dough using the soy flour and wheat flour, salt and water as needed. . Remove the dal and whisk it to make it homogeous. . Heat the ghee, add cumin and mustard seeds, asafoetida, add the ginger and garlic as mentioned above, curry leaves and prepare a tadka. . To the tadka, add chopped tomato and then the dry red chilli. . Add the whisked dal to the tadka. Then add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. . Mix well. Let it boil nicely. . Simultaneously roll out the dough thinly, cut it into diamonds, and add them to the boiling dal tadka. Let the dough cook well in the boiling dal for mins or as needed. Tastes better when the dough is thoroughly cooked. . Once that is done, turn off the heat and serve hot. Enjoy the comforting meal after garnishing it with chopped Coriander leaves.
