The Cable Twist is a beneficial isolation exercise that works on the transverse abdominis and oblique muscles. First, grasp the stirrup from your shoulder height cable pulley. Next, turn to one side, away from the pulley until your arm is extended straight. Position feet wide apart with the furthest foot away from the pulley and nearest foot close to the pulley. Point both feet away from the pulley. Raise your heel off the nearest foot off the floor. Place the extended hand over the other hand or interlace fingers.
Keeping arms straight, pull stirrup diagonally downward around shoulders by rotating torso
Gradually lower your arms down until the cable is just above the shoulder
Slowly, bend your knees as stirrup makes its way around your body and approaches the bottom
Return to the starting position and repeat
Continue with the opposite side.
