Ingredients

onion 1 medium sized

6-8 cloves garlic (crushed)

2-3 green chillies(slit)

chicken boneless 100 g

rice raw 100 g

ghee 10 g

salt as per taste

red chilly powder

biryani masala

whole garam masala (cardamom, cloves, black peppercorns, 2 bay leaves)

curd 50 g

food grade orange colour ( a pinch)

Method

Step 1

marinate the chicken with curd salt, crushed garlic , red chilli powder, biryani masala. for minutes so that all spices get absorbed in the chicken . boil rice in water along with salt and whole garam masala added to it , once the rice is / th cooked take it out in a strainer and let it cool down . now heat a pan and add gram ghee to it and you can add slit green chillies to it now saute onion (chopped into thin slices) after it turns crisp and a little brown you can add marinated chicken to it and fry it for sometime , then add water to it and cover , let the chicken be cooked on slow flame once chicken is cooked , you can take a thick bottomed pan and first put half of the cooked rice which you had kept in a strainer , now add the layer of cooked chicken now final layer will be if rice again add a pinch of colour in some water and add it to the rice by making a hole in centre, now mix the rice lightly so that the colour is spread evenly heat the remaining ghee in a pan and add it to the prepared rice just cover it for sometime and let it cool on slow flame serve it hot with your choice of raita and salad to nosh farmaiye ye zaikedar biryani
