Ingredients for Chicken in guava gravy
- › Chicken boneless- 150gm
- › Soy sauce - 15gm
- › Ginger - 5gm
- › Garlic- 5gm
- › Tomato ketchup - 20gm
- › Apple cider vinegar (acv) - 20gm
- › Onion - 50gm
- › Tomato - 50gm
- › Green chilly- 1 (small)
- › Red chilly flakes - 1 tsp
- › Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- › Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- › Salt and black pepper powder - as per the taste.
- › Sesame seeds - a pinch for garnishing (optional)
- › Cabbage- 20gm
- › Corn - 20gm
Method
1. Cut the chicken into cubes and marinate it with ginger garlic and chilly paste. In a bowl, add acv, tomato sauce, soy sauce ( all three half the amount mentioned above) salt and pepper and pour it over the chicken and marinate for about 10 minutes. Heat oil in the pan (half the amount) and cook the chicken on low flame until it’s golden brown on both the sides and it becomes tender and then take it out and keep aside.
2. Meanwhile, cut the onion and tomato into small cubes. Also add veggies of your choice (capsicum, corn, beetroot, cabbage, etc) I had chopped cabbage and corn mixture so added that.
3. In the same pan, add the oil (half), heat it and then add onion, saute it for a minute and then add tomatoes and other veggies. Give a nice stir fry for about 2 minutes but make sure it doesn’t get over cooked or else the crunchiness will disappear.
4. Prepare the sauce, by adding acv, tomato sauce, soy sauce, zero calorie sweetener( if you want sweet), corn flour, salt and red chilly flakes, red chilly powder and cumin powder. Add little water and whisk it nicely.
5. Then, add the sauce to the pan and let it simmer for 2 - 3 minutes. After that, add the chicken back to the pan, and cook it for another 5-7 minutes adding little water until the chicken absorbs the gravy.
6. And it’s done! Top it with sesames seeds, coriander leaves or spring onion greens. I didn’t have it so just added sesame seeds. Serve hot😋
