Oil : 50 gm Potato : 150 gm Fish : 100 gm ( i have used salmon,you can take any) Egg whole : 1 Breadcrumbs : 10 gm Use salt, spices,Turmeric powder, curry leaves,ginger,garlic,onion,tomatoes, green chili as per your taste .
For fish Cutlet Filling: â˘Boil, peel and mash the potatoes. Set aside. â˘In a pan, heat the oil. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves and allow them to crackle.Add onions and saute for a few minutes till soft and lightly golden in color.Add finely chopped ginger garlic or ginger garlic paste and chopped green chili and saute well till the raw smell is gone. â˘Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder and saute for a few seconds. â˘Add the fish pieces and salt to taste. Cook the fish on all sides. When the fish is well cooked, break it down or mash lightly with the spoon to get fairly smooth mixture. â˘Add the mashed potatoes and stir to combine well with the masala and fish. Cook together till mixture is dry. â˘Sprinkle black pepper powder, aamchur powder as per your choice. Mix well and remove from heat. Let filling cool completely. Making Fish Cutlets: â˘Take the egg, Take breadcrumbs in another bowl. â˘Pinch small sized balls of the fish filling, smoothen with your hands and flatten it slightly. â˘Dip each patty in the egg, then roll generously in breadcrumbs. â˘Transfer to a plate. Repeat till all the filling is used up. ⢠Allow the coating to firm up slightly before frying them. â˘Heat oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, drop in a couple of patties, reduce heat to medium-slow. Serve them hot đ *Tip: How to check quantity of oil used : Weigh the cooking oil before frying cutlets, then fry cutlets and after that weigh the left over oil. Substarct this to before frying oil quantity. This is the oil which gets absorbed by the cutlets while frying. Check the calories for this.
