Ingredients

  • Recipe Ingredients listSattu (500g)
  • Recipe Ingredients listPowdered jaggery (100g)
  • Recipe Ingredients listGhee (50g)
  • Recipe Ingredients listAlmonds (30g slivered)
  • Recipe Ingredients listCardamom (5-6 pieces powdered)

Direction

Step-1

Heat the ghee in a pan.

Step-2

When it is smoking hot, put the sattu.

Step-3

Mix well to ensure sattu wraps well with ghee for 2 mins, then reduce flame to minimum to keep roasting till it turns dark brown. (Don’t forget to reduce the flame after 2 mins, else sattu will burn) Keep it aside to cool.

Step-4

In a separate bowl put the powdered jaggery and add 200 ml of water and bring to boil. Keep boiling for 5 minutes till it becomes liquid (no need to make it thick like a syrup). Keep it aside to cool.

Step-5

Once both are luke warm, add the powdered cardamom and slivered almonds to the sattu mix. Now slowly pour the liquid jaggery into the sattu mix and knead it well. That’s it ! Mould it in the shape of your choice !!
