- Wheat flour 50 gms
- Grated Bottle gourd or Cucumber 100 gms
- Finely chopped Ginger and Garlic 1 teaspoon
- Minced Green Chili
- Turmeric and coriander powder as per taste
- Salt as per taste
- Lemon juice 2 teaspoon
- Oil 5gm
- Carom seeds one pinch
Mix all ingredients except oil and grated bottle gourd/cucumber.
Remove excess water from grated bottle gourd/cucumber.
Add bottle gourd/cucumber to mixed ingredients and prepare dough without adding water.
Apply some oil on your palms and shape dough into cylindrical roll.
Prepare steamer. Add about an inch of water and let it come to a boil. Then apply some oil on steamer tray with holes in it and grease it well and keep it aside.
Arrange dough on greased tray.
Steam it for 20-25 minutes. You can check muthia is done by inserting a toothpick or knife in the muthia and it should come out clean.
Let it cool for 5 minutes, remove it to plate or cutting board. then cut into half inch slices.
Optional - 1. you can add one table spoon or gram flour along with wheat flour. 2. You can add tempering of mustard seeds and sesame seeds.
