Masoor dal- 70gms
Rice flour- 15gms
Onion- 1 nos. small
Green chili- 1 nos.
Coriander leaves- 1Tbsp chopped
Ginger paste- 1/4th Tsp
Cumin seeds- ½ Tsp
Red chili powder- ½ Tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1/4th Tsp
Black pepper powder- 1/4th Tsp
Salt to taste
Olive oil- 2 Tsp (for brushing)
Wash and rinse masoor dal in water - times. Once done, soak masoor dal in warm water for an hour.
After an hour, drain the water from masoor dal. Now, take a blender and add soaked dal to it. Pulse it a couple of time to get a coarse paste (do not over blend, since the dal was soaked it will blend within seconds).
Meanwhile preheat the microwave at C degrees for mins.
Transfer the dal mixture into a mixing bowl and add rice flour, finely chopped onion, finely chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, and ginger paste. Add all the spices and seasonings to the mixture.
Mix everything well and divide and make small balls of it, keeping the surfaces flat (tikki shape). Place these onto a baking tray (make sure to line the tray with baking sheet).
Brush the tikkis with oil and bake it in the microwave for mins.
Make sure to flip and brush the tikkis mid-way (after -mins).
After mins, let the tikkis cool for a couple of mins before taking them out of the microwave.
Serve the tikkis with green chutney. Enjoy!!
