German Lentils Soup
- 60 gm German Lentils
- 20 gm Onion
- 50 gm Potato
- 40 gm Carrot
- 1/2 knorr cube
- 5 gm Ghee / oil
- 5 gm Garlic chopped
Presoak the lentils for atleast 2 hours in warm water.
Chop the vegetables in chunks.
Drain the water from soaked lentils and set aside.
Place a pressure pot on medium flame. Add in ghee and let it warm.
Now add the chopped veggies, garlic and saute for 3-4 mins. Add the lentils, knorr cubes and around 400 ml water or till everything gets covered well in water. Add salt and check the taste.
Pressure cook for 2 whistles. Turn off the flame and let it cool for few minutes.
Now remove the lid and check the consistency. If too watery simmer on a low flame for some more time. You can also season with additional spices at this stage.
Take out a portion in bowl and garnish with herbs , pepper & cheese.
