How to make Dal-Baati

Step-1

Firstly soak all the dals together for atleast an hour

Step-2

Boil the dal in cooker

Step-3

Meanwhile for the dough combine all the flours and rawa. Add 5 gms ghee and knead a semi hard dough

Step-4

In a kadai add 5 gms ghee, add sliced onion and tomato.

Step-5

As they are cooked, add all the masalas and add little water to cook the masalas

Step-6

After 2-3 boils add the cooked dal and add salt as per taste

Step-7

For the baatis, make 5 round balls and make a X in between. Heat a appam pan and add the remaining ghee in it

Step-8

Cook the baatis on a slow flame for 20 mins. Keep rotating the baatis in the pan after every 5 mins

Step-9

In a plate brake all the baatis in two parts and pour the cooked dal. You can garnish it with garlic chutney and coriander
