khus khus ka seera
Ingredients: Poppy seeds (khus khus - 100 grams, soak overnight), ghee (30 ml), fresh cream (100 ml). Recipe: grind the poppyseeds soaked overnight. Strain the poppyseeds, keep water aside will use it later. Be careful not to make fine paste, just one or two grind. Now in handi shaped pan put ghee, once it’s hot add grinded poppyseeds. Now comes the hard word, keep stirring till dark brown. Ensure it doesn’t stick to pan. Once it starts separating the pan and leaves oil, add cream and water (kept aside earlier). One can use milk but I used cream just to fit within my macros. Cover it with lid and let it cook for 30 mins or until it dries up. Add cardamom, finely chopped almonds and cashews (handful). Done.
