I decided to bring KFC home tonight, but made more of a healthy choice by trying out the “Oats Fried Chicken” concept that my wife suggested. This can be a two split meal for many, but I finished it in one go as I usually do (Burp!)

Ingredients

  • listcheckChicken Breast Nugget sized pieces 200 gms
  • listcheckGhee 20 gms
  • listcheckOats 30 gms
  • listcheckChicken Masala
  • listcheckCoriander powder
  • listcheckRed Chilly Powder
  • listcheckBlack Pepper Powder
  • listcheckGaram Masala
  • listcheckTurmeric Powder
  • listcheckSalt
  • listcheckVinegar
  • listcheck2 Whole Eggs
  • Method

  • Step-1
    Marinate chicken boneless breast pieces with the following- Chicken Masala, Coriander powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt, Black Pepper Masala, Garam Masala, Red Chilly powder and 1 tbsp vinegar. Marinate for atleast 2 hours.
  • Step-2
    Take a frying pan, put 20 gms ghee in it and set it on a simmering flame. Ensure the ghee is spread evenly throughout the pan.
  • Step-3
    Break open 2 whole eggs in an open bowl, add a pinch of salt and black pepper and mix well.
  • Step-4
    Take a chicken piece, dip it in the egg bowl, dip it in a separate bowl containing 30 gms oats and then place it gently on the frying pan. Repeat for all the chicken pieces and distribute them evenly on the pan.
  • Step-5
    15 minutes later, turn the contents of the pan upside down and allow the other side to fry for the next 10-15 minutes.
  • Step-6
    Empty the contents onto a plate and add ketchup if necessary (I didn’t have room for any further macros coming from ketchup though).
