Golgappa Chaat Recipe is a popular Indian street chaats that is made by stuffing crispy puffed puris with boiled potatoes and topped with sweet, sour and spicy chutneys, onion, sev and beaten curd (dahi) . It is perfect as a party-snack. Make these for your next chaat party.

Ingredients

  • listcheck1 cup. Sooji (Semolina / rava )
  • listcheck1/2 cup All purpose Flour (Maida )
  • listcheckSunflower oil, For making dough and deep frying.
  • listcheck1/2 tsp cumin powder roasted
  • listcheck1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • listcheck1/2 cup Green chutney (coriander and mint), to taste
  • listcheck1/2 cup Sweet chutney to taste
  • listcheck1 spring Coriander ( Dhaniya )leaves chopped
  • listcheck1 spring mint leaves ( pudina )chopped
  • listcheck1 Potato ( Aloo), boiled and peeled
  • listcheck1/2 cup kala chana ( brown chickpeas ), sprouted and boiled ( option )
  • listcheck2 tbsp Boondi
  • listcheck2 cups curd (Dahi )
  • listchecksugar, to taste
  • Method

  • Step-1
    Step1 . Let us begin making the Golgappa chat recipe by at home to make the Gol gappa
  • Step-2
    Step2 . Take Maida, suji and oil in any utensil and mix these contents properly. with the help of water, kneed a dough for hard puri ( press dough well while kneading ). cover the dough and leave it aside for 15 -20 mins to ferment rise.

    Step3 . Break a big round piece off the dough, roll this round piece into a circle. with the help of a small lid, cut as many round puris possible, take the small circles and keep them on a plate.
  • Step-4
    Step4 . Mix the dough that is leftover to the main dough and repeat the same process till you have made puris of the entire dough. Now take one puris at a time and roll it a little making it thinner. You can roll them length wise to make long puri or circular to make round puris.

    Step5 . Heat the oil on medium high heat. start frying the puris, starting first with the puris you first rolled.
  • Step-6
    Step6 . Put one puri in the oil and press lightly. When it putra turn over and put another puri in the oil. keep adding 6-8 puris at a time . Fry the puris until they are golden brown all around by a few times. You may adjust the heat as needed while frying.
  • Step-7
    Step7 . Take the puris out and place over a paper towel,so the excess oil is absorbed.
  • Step-8
    Step8 . peel the boiled prati and cut into small cubes. Add some salt into it and mix it well.With the help of a finger make a hole in the each gol gappa and stuff the potato cubes. you can also stuff sports and boiled kala chana in the gol gappas.
  • Step-9
    Step9 . Whisk the yoghurt well with sugar and salt as to taste. place gol gappas on a plate and cover with yoghurt.
  • Step-10
    Step10 . Drizzel mint chutney and sweet chutney. sprinkle red chilli powder, Boondi, cumin powder.
  • Step-11
    Step11. Garnish with coriander leaves, Red chilli powder and chat masala and your golgappa chat is ready to be served and devoured immediately.
