Ingredients

  • listcheckDry white peas - 1 cup
  • listcheckSalt -1 tsp
  • listcheckWater- 1.5 cups
  • listcheckTamarind Paste - 1 tbsp
  • listcheckWarm Water - 1/3 cup
  • listcheckonions - 1/3 cup chopped
  • listcheckTomatoes 1/4 cup chopped
  • listcheckGreen chillies -3
  • listcheckCilantro -5 tbsp
  • listcheckBlack salt - 2 tsp
  • listcheckChaat masala - 1/2 tsp
  • listcheckRoasted cumin powder - 3 tsp
  • listcheckRed Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • listcheckLemon juice - 1.5 tbsp
  • Method

  • Step-1
    Step1. Soaked matar in 3 to 4 cups water for 7 to 8 hours.
  • Step-2
    Step2. Rinse and wash the soaked matar properly.
  • Step-3
    Step3. Add the matar to a pressure cooker.
  • Step-4
    Step4 . Add salt, water and mix.
  • Step-5
    Step5 . Cook for 4 to 5 whistles if using big cooker or 6 to 8 whistle if using small cooker.

    Step6 . Let the cooker depressuirse on its own.
  • Step-7
    Step7 . Open the cooker and make sure matar are cooked properly.

    Step8 . Mash some matar If there is some water left then cook the beans with cooker open till the water is soaked.

    Step9 . Add Tamarind paste to warm water.
  • Step-10
    Step10 . Mix it together till the color of water changes.
  • Step-11
    Step11 . Take a tea strainer and strain tha liquid in another bowl while mashing the tamarind in the strainer.

    Step12 . Do this process 3 times.

    Step13 . In a big tall bowl take the boiled matar.
  • Step-14
    Step14 . Add onions, Tomatoes, Green chillies, Ginger, Cilantro, Black salt, Roasted cumin powder, Chaat masala, Red chilli powder, Lemon juice and tamarind water - 3 tbsp.

    Step15 . Mix Everything Well while mashing some beans.

    Step16 . Serve with kulcha, chapatti, puries and other things.
