It is called as Nucchina Unde in kannada. The traditional receipe does not include paneer, but now I try to include paneer in any recipe I make and this one turned out really good. I could make 10 such dumpling pieces with the quantity mentioned below, it serves as a good healthy snack for around 4 people

Ingredients

  • listcheckPaneer 50 grams
  • listcheckToor dal 70 grams
  • listcheckCoriander leaves
  • listcheckDill leaves
  • listcheckAsafoetida
  • listcheckCoconut 15 grams
  • listcheckGreen chillies
  • listcheckGinger
  • listcheckolive oil 2.5 grams
  • Method

  • Step-1
    Soak toor dal in water for minimum of 2 hours
  • Step-2
    Once dal is soaked, wash it and add all the ingredients mentioned above except oil to a mixer. Add salt as per taste
  • Step-3
    Grind Coarsely without adding water
  • Step-4
    This mix needs to be steamed, it can be done in Idly plates, pressure cooker, I have done it in Instant pot. If you are using pressure cooker or instant pot, make sure you use stackable pans with water in the cooker
  • Step-5
    Grease the plates with Olive oil, make oval shape balls and arrange it on Greased plate
  • Step-6
    Steam cook it for around 12 minutes without whistle or if you are using instant pot then leave the whistle in venting position
  • Step-7
    Paneer Dal dumplings should be ready , serve it with Mint chutney.
