Holy grail for South Indians specifically tamilians. A weekend breakfast recipe to enjoy it with some yummy tomato chutney.

Ingredients

  • listcheckRice 50 gms
  • listcheckMung dal 25 gms
  • listcheck1/4 inch ginger cut into small pieces
  • listcheck1 green chili finely chopped
  • listcheck1 tsp cumin
  • listcheck1 tsp pepper
  • listcheck1 mustard seeds
  • listcheckSalt per taste
  • listcheckWater 3 times the rice+dal proportion
  • listcheckGhee 10 gms
  • listcheckCurry leaves (optional)
  • Method

  • Step-1
    In pressure cooker, add the 1/2 the qty of ghee and make tadka of musturd seeds, cumin, ginger and curry leaves.
  • Step-2
    Now add rest of the ingredients including salt and water. Close the PC and leave it on high for 4-5 whistles.
  • Step-3
    Once the pressure release natural, give it a good mix-mash. Add rest of the ghee and enjoy !
