This recipe is very common in Karnataka and Andhra. It is relished as a breakfast or snack or dinner.

Ingredients

  • listcheckPuffed Rice 30g
  • listcheckOnion 20g (Cut thinely vertical)
  • listcheckTomato 20g (diced to small cubes)
  • listcheckGreen chilli 1 (diced very small)
  • listcheckGroundnuts raw 10g
  • listcheckOlive oil 5ml
  • listcheckTurmeric powder
  • listcheckGinger grated (small piece)
  • listcheckLemon juice 1tbsp
  • listcheckCoriander leaves to garnish
  • Method

  • Step-1
    Wash puffed rice in a colander until soft. Don't squeeze while washing. Keep aside for any water to drain.
  • Step-2
    In a hot pan, add olive oil, pinch of mustard seeds, groundnuts, grated ginger, green chilli, onion. Cover and cook for a min until onion is soft.
  • Step-3
    Add turmeric powder, salt to the onion mixture and mix well.
  • Step-4
    Add drained puffed rice. Mix well. Switch off.
  • Step-5
    Add diced tomatoes and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Step-6
    Garnish with coriander leaves.
