Preparation

A Plank primarily works the erector spinae, rectus abdominis or abs, and transverse abdominis. Let’s check out how it’s done:

Method

Step 1

Lie down on your stomach

Step 2

Bring yourself up on your forearms

Step 3

Extend your feet behind you and come up on your toes

Step 4

Your body should be in a straight line

Step 5

Your elbows should be bent and directly below your shoulders

Step 6

Engage your core and hold this position for as long as you can

Step 7

Remember to breathe normally.
