I am writing this because I feel there is still some confusion
Whey protein is one of the two proteins found in milk, with the other being casein. When a coagulant (usually renin) is added to milk, the curds (casein) and whey separate. Whey protein is the water-soluble part of milk. ๐ฅWhey is used as a protein powder supplement. It is very useful for hitting daily protein macros but if you can cover them up through food then whey is not required. You will still do good from the protein you get from the food sources. ๐ฅIs Whey required ? ๐ฅNo! If we can cover up protein from food sources like diary ,meat products ,Soya bean , lentils etc . ๐ฅWhich whey you should buy ? ๐ฅAny brand with concentrate / isolate protein which contains around 20 gms or more protein in one scoop . Carbs less than 4-5 gms and fat less than 2-3 gms . ๐ฅwhat if you are lactose intolerant or vegan ? ๐ฅPlease go for plant based protein with similar values given above . Casein protein is one of the two proteins that make up dairy protein (the other being Whey protein). It is typically known as the 'slow' digesting component of Milk protein. ๐ฅCasein is a slow-digesting dairy protein that we often take as a supplement. It releases amino acids slowly, so people often take it before bed to help with recovery and reduce muscle breakdown while they sleep. ๐ฅIs casein required ? ๐ฅ No!! Recover should be fine if your overall protein intake is good casein wonโt elevate your recovery or muscle growth just by taking it. So focus on over all intake of protein rather than falling for different brands claiming they have best proteins. FOOD COMES FIRST . ๐ช๐ฝ๐ช๐ฝ I hope it cleared some confusions . Thanks for reading ๐ค๐ค
