Vitamin C, also know as L-ascorbic acid is an essential vitamin with high anti-oxidant properties. It is popularly used as a supplement due to its benefits. It is popularly used to reduce the symptoms of a cold.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. If taken in excess it gets excreted out by the urea cycle. It is a very useful supplement for those who cannot complete their daily intake from food and for athletes to increase immunity against cold.
