The electrolyte balance!

The electrolyte balance !

Electrolytes are: Essential minerals found in body fluids. Major electrolytes are: Sodium, potassium. Chloride, magnesium. Electrolytes are required for various bodily processes, muscle and nerve functioning and also maintains the acid base balance. Dehydration caused by excess of heat can lead to electrolyte imbalance. When a person sweats, water and electrolytes both are lost to a minimal extend and during an intense exercise activity the rate of loss of electrolytes becomes more. However, replenishing the electrolytes has shown to help overcome: Keto Flu symptoms, Muscle cramps, constipation, fatigue. Sources: 1. Vegetables such as Spinach, zucchini 2. Mushroom 3. Fruits: Avocado, banana 4. Fish, Chicken broth 5. Nuts such as Almonds 6. Tender coconut water 7. Multivitamin 8. Salt 9. Dark chocolates. Takeaway points: >> Keep yourself well hydrated. >> Just because you start to diet does not mean that you will have to completely avoid Salt in all the food. (RDA for common salt is around 2.4g/day). >> You don’t really require an electrolyte supplement until and unless prescribed by a doctor. Well balanced diet should give one all the required electrolyte.
