Muscle weakness and wasting is very common among arthritis patients that leads to Fatigue, loss of stamina, lower level of activity, loss of independence and Poor balance. Resistance Training helps in overcoming these challenges How- - Reduces pain : Strengthen the muscles around affected Joints - Increase Range of Motion - Burn Calories - Improve Bone Density How to Start- - With Light weights - Resistance Bands - Body Weight Workouts - Wall push ups, Mini Squats, Calf Raises Precautions- Do's 1. Start under a physiotherapist or a certified personal trainer who has an experience of handling arthritis patients 2. Schedule workout for times of the day when least likely to suffer from inflammation and pain 3. Excercise within comfortable range of motion 4. Take proper rest between sets 5. Apply Ice if its pain after the workout Don'ts 1. Avoid when stiffness is at worst 2. Avoid with actively inflammed Joints 3.
