An important role for maintaining an active healthy lifestyle is to minimise the activity related injury. Below are some of the points that will help prevent or reduce the chances of injury. Warm up - Warming up before exercise has multiple benefit some of which include increase in blood flow to the muscles, enhance cellular metabolism, increase range of motion to name a few. Stretching - Increased flexibility attained through stretching is believed to decrease injuries, reduce muscle soreness and even improve performance. Training - It important to understand different elements of training. This helps to understand where the training error occurred and what measures can be taken to prevent it from recurring.
