Infused/detox water - Magic🧚🏼‍♀ or myth🧟‍♀?

Wondering what the latest hype for infused or so-called detox water is all about! It is typically water infused with flavours of vegetables🥒, fruits🍎, or even herbs🌶. There can be many combinations like: - cucumber + mint, lemon + ginger, blackberry + orange, lemon + cayenne pepper, watermelon + mint, grapefruit + rosemary + fennel, strawberry + raspberry + basil, apple + cinnamon etc.

So, the story behind these health claims? There is no 🙅🏻‍♀🙅🏼‍♀scientific evidence to suggest that detox water aids in rapid weight loss or enhances the detoxification process in the body. The is no proof that it improves complexion or makes the environment in your body more alkaline. These claims have been manufactured by people wanting to sell quick weight loss regimens and cleanses. The human body is designed to naturally rid itself of toxins🕺🏼. The improvements in health observed by people consuming detox water are mostly because of the water consumption itself. Numerous studies have shown that drinking adequate quantity of water in a day naturally boosts your metabolism. Water also helps flush out waste and toxins and prevents constipation. However, for people who find consuming water mundane and don't feel like drinking water, this may be the perfect way to consume water that tastes good and smells good. Not only that, it is refreshing and improves your mood as well. Remember, anything that helps you consume more water is a good thing🙋🏼‍♂🙋🏻‍♀ Also a few tips🧞‍♂️1) Citrus fruits have a bitter part, called pith, that makes water bitter and needs to be removed🧞‍♂️2) Crush the ingredients for increased flavor infusion🧞‍♂️3) Infused fruits/ vegetables can later be consumed🧞‍♂️4) No need to be very accurate with your measurements.
