Of course, volume is king. The more you increase the volume of your workouts, better will be the growth...to an extent.

Beyond a point, recovery becomes an issue. In a semi-recovered state you aren't going to be able to perform even as good as you otherwise would've. Over time, you stand a good chance of reducing your ability to lift even the same weight with same volume...and all that, JUST because you got a little greedy and ignored rest and recovery.
