How to build habits.

How to build habits

============================== In one of my posts, I mentioned its important to work on your habit for a healthy sustainable lifestyle ( this is the post - https://m.facebook.com/groups/823848317674482?view=permalink&id=2422527484473216) Now let's understand how you can build those habits- Our brain craves for cues to perform certain activities, for example switching off the night in light is a signal that you should sleep now. And that eventually becomes your routine which results in reward that is in given example - sleep. Charles Duhigg's in his book power of habit coined it "the habit loop". So let's say you want to build a habit of going to exercise every day you can leave some cues like sleeping in workout clothes only then in the morning making a routine of going to the gym which eventually result in building up the habit of going to the gym every day. Same way let's say if you are not able to drink enough water through the day then keep a water bottle at you work desk all the time that gives a clue to the brain and eventually results in the routine of drinking water regularly. Remember, Brain craves for the same thing you do usually to change any bad habit you need to take advantage of that only by gradually building good habits. Habits take time to build and it can be challenging sometimes, so you can set rewards for yourself if you hit certain target let's say - if spend a lot on clothes, then you can make a target that if you don't spend anything for next 45 days on clothes then you get to buy one dress from your favorite store. Do let me know if itshelps.. Cheers!!
