Home workout Part 17 - Learn how to do Hindu Pushups

Hindu Pushups got its name because of its root to Desi Indian Gymnasiums (Akahada) and is quite popular among old Indian Wrestlers.

As conventional pushups focus on chest, shoulders and triceps; Hindu Pushups focus on Core as well (abdominal muscles, glutes, lower back). It helps with Mobility and Flexibility and also with better strength gains compared to conventional pushups. Correct Form (focus on arrows and outlines in the video to see common mistakes and errors) :- Incorrect Form - 1. Legs and hands too wide 2. Bent knees 3. Flared Elbows 4. Downward position and then an upward position 5. Glutes pointing backwards while coming back to the starting position 6. Touching knees to the floor Correct Form - 1. Legs and hands at shoulder-width apart 2. Start with downward dog pose 3. Locked knees and elbows 4. While going down, keep elbows close to the body and keep the body as close to the floor as possible without touching the floor 5. Go forward and upward and form an arc from head to toe 6. Go up till your elbows are locked 7. Glutes will be pointing towards the roof in the starting position 8. Head will follow the movement of the entire body Hindu Pushups have 12 different variations. Dear Akash, how to do if resistance bands are not available ? only those variations where body weight is utilised ? any other way ?
