Fitness & you, a unique relationship.

What does fitness mean to you?

The dictionary defines fitness as “the condition of being physically fit and healthy” and “the quality of being suitable to fulfill a particular task”. As you may have observed, there is no mention of any fixed standard for measuring how fit you should be. That’s because fitness depends on each individual and the realistic goal that they have set for themselves. For instance, your goal could be as simple as becoming more productive at work without experiencing any physical or mental fatigue. Or it could be being able to play with your kid even after a long day at work. Another goal might be that you want to complete a marathon within the next one year. By far, one of the most common goals is to lose some fat & gain muscles to improve your body composition. Now that you’ve set your goal, let us understand the various steps involved in achieving it: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻: Start by setting a small target that can be achieved in a week. List down the things you want to do. You need to make sure fitness finds a place in your routine. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: Think of it as a game: when you start playing a new game, you always start at an easy level. Why? Because you want to understand the game and get better at it. The better you get, the easier it becomes to progress. Right? Fitness is something like that. 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲: Keep a log/journal for the things that you have accomplished so far and the things to come. And then, follow through and execute relentlessly. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Your results are only as good as your actions. Being true to yourself and giving the best is something to be practiced daily, that is how you build consistency! 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: Start to appreciate the small accomplishments. You are not the same once you are in the process of achieving what you want. The old version of yourself would be still thinking, whilst the new version of yourself is making progress. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: All these steps put together will yield the end product provided you make consistent efforts and take action. Lastly, don’t make the mistake of comparing yourself with others for your personal goals. As I see it, there are just 2 categories of individuals: people who succeed/win and those who haven’t given their best. Are you now ready to accept the challenge and get out of your comfort zone? Are you now willing to put yourself through the process and realize your potential? Everyone gets 24 hours in a day. If you are able to relate to any single point that is mentioned above, kudos to you! You have the potential to reach your fitness goals. Choose what you want to be!
