Are Fats BAD? Does eating Fats make you fat?

===================================== Weight gain does not depend on overeating a single nutrient. Eating more calories than you burn leads to weight gain no matter from where the calories come from. People who have less or no physical activity and a high caloric intake have a high possibility of weight gain. Fat is the most calorie dense food of all. 1 gram of fat yields 9 calories more than alcohol, carbohydrates, and protein. The fact is Eating fat doesn’t make you fat. Eating too much of anything will make you fat. Fats are not bad. They play a vital role in the body. Here are some of the important functions:- Fats are the major source of energy. 1 gram of fat yield 9 calories more than any other macronutrient. Play a major role in metabolism. Helps in absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Storehouse of energy. Eating fat will make you fat? No! Eating fat won’t make you fat. Fat is one of the best sources of energy and best ways to adjust the remaining calories in your diet. Fats provide more energy than any other macronutrients. Excess of everything is bad!! Yes! If you eat more than what you require you will gain fat/weight. Maintain your calories and always keep a track of the total caloric intake. Does the source matter? Yes! The source always matter. You can get fat from fried and processed food. On the other hand, you can get fats from flax seeds, coconut oil etc. It makes a huge difference in metabolism of fat.
