Sugar substitutes can be used in the diets of people who struggle to give up on sugar and enjoys the taste of sugar. Apart from the taste that they provide they also help us to save some calories in our diet. Few of the commonly available sugar substitutes are:

Stevia: It is derived from stevia leaf and almost has negligible calories. Erythritol: It belongs to the 'polyols', sugar alcohols and also has negligible calories. The taste is close to the table sugar. Sucralose: Which is also a zero-calorie sweetener and available easily in the market in different brands. None of the sugar substitutes has shown any adverse effect on health while taken at small quantities.
