Motivation

We are halfway through the year 2020.

It has been more than 90 days since the lockdown and life is not yet back to normal. If you wanted to achieve something and still are in pursuit of it, read on. Just think of the occasions where you had set some goals and then lost track? How many new year resolutions did you actually fulfill? How many times did you decide to make a fresh start from the next month? It is rightly said that time always keeps changing and moves forward. People have always complained about the lack of time, lack of resources, lack of motivation etc. Well, now it is time to reflect and understand what is important for you. 1) š˜æš™¤ š™£š™¤š™© š™›š™šš™šš™™ š™®š™¤š™Ŗš™§ š™™š™žš™Øš™©š™§š™–š™˜š™©š™žš™¤š™£š™Ø: lack of motivation is basically distraction, which comes in many forms - Weekly social gatherings, emotional eating, surrendering to the cravings etc. Before the pandemic, most of you complained about lack of time. Well now you have some extra time on your hands. Initially, when you start the diet, it might be difficult to say no to your friends and family when they offer you your favorite sweet. Also you are quite likely to give in to the cravings. Will one piece of sweet put you out of track? Maybe not. This is all related to your mental stability. A piece of sweet or junk food might not completely affect your transformation, it is the goal that you had set for yourself, your discipline. When you cannot resist a simple craving, how do you plan to reach the goal/ transform into your best shape which you have never achieved? The answer is simple: Alignment with your goals. Ā  2) š˜¼š™”š™žš™œš™£š™¢š™šš™£š™© š™¬š™žš™©š™ š™©š™š™š š™œš™¤š™–š™”:Often when you lose track of your goal, it is due to the fact that you are not aligned with your goal. Commitment, motivation become the secondary factors here. Your transformation should be as important to you as any other activity or task in the day. Every action, every step should point towards your end goal. Ā  3) š™„š™© š™žš™Ø š™£š™¤š™© š™¤š™«š™šš™§ š™Ŗš™£š™”š™šš™Øš™Ø š™®š™¤š™Ŗ š™§š™šš™–š™˜š™ š™®š™¤š™Ŗš™§ š™©š™–š™§š™œš™šš™©: A major setback that many of you might experience is that you do not learn from your mistakes. It is easy to set resolutions every year, but fulfilling those is difficult. People often procrastinate and end up doing nothing during the entire year. Let me give you an example: when a person in combat sports falls on the ground while fighting his opponent, the match referee counts till 10. Ideally, these are 10 seconds given to the athlete on the ground to get back on his feet. Every second is an opportunity, every second is a chance offered to him. The situation of daily life is somewhat similar to this example. You will have to make the best of every situation and ask yourself if you have tried enough. Ā  4) š™’š™š™šš™£ š™©š™š™šš™§š™š š™žš™Ø š™– š™¬š™žš™”š™”, š™®š™¤š™Ŗ š™¬š™žš™”š™” š™–š™”š™¬š™–š™®š™Ø š™›š™žš™£š™™ š™– š™¬š™–š™®- It is amusing that most people who did not go to the gym for a single day or two after buying annual membership are now giving the reason for not being fit as gyms are closed. People who would never eat healthy are now concerned that they are not finding sufficient vegetables, protein sources, etc. It is very much possible to transform yourself with limited resources, the only key here is you have to start now. You do not need a full-fledged gym to just do a 30 min exercise activity. Start by listing down all the possible exercises that you can do just with body weight. List down the basic equipment that you can invest in: For example: Adjustable weights, resistance bands, tubes etc. Pick up a few variations that you are comfortable with and give it your best. Once you see some progress, gradually increase the variables such as the number of sets, repetitions, or weight. The same goes for your diet habits. If you do not find a whole source of fiber or protein intakes like vegetables, fruits, or meat, try to supplement some of it with psyllium husk or whey protein powder. Ā  With limited sources, it is still possible to transform your body by going through a thorough process of consistent exercise and balanced diet.
