TOP 3 REASONS WHY YOU KEEP REGAINING WEIGHT

Aren’t you sick and tired of losing weight only to gain it all back again? Don’t you wish you knew the reasons for this?

Read on.

Mistake #1: Wrong Guesswork (and guesswork is ALWAYS wrong!)

If I gave you a math problem but didn't explain the fundamental rules for solving it, wouldn't you find it nearly impossible to solve the problem? I mean sure, you could guess numbers upon numbers till you're blue in the face and you’d still be nowhere close to the right answer.

In the case of our bodies, the "math problem" gets exceedingly more complicated with every failed attempt. Without an understanding of the science behind weight loss (the "equation"), you keep randomly inputting numbers into this hypothetical math problem which is doomed to fail.

The solution: Stop making "guesses" about your diet. Educate yourself on what works and what doesn’t. Embarking on a weight loss campaign without knowing the fundamentals isn’t just stupid, but downright dangerous! You could fall down a spiral of repeated diet failures, inflict unnecessary metabolic damage on your body, and end up doing untold harm to your body.

Mistake #2: Post Diet Strategy

Most people do manage to lose some weight. Where most of them fail is in the post-diet exit strategy.

No matter which diet strategy you choose, ALWAYS ensure it is something that you can follow for the long term. Once you’ve reached your goal, you must understand how to diet after the diet. If you’re not careful, you will fail 100% of the time, no exceptions.

Remember, just because you're at a lower weight doesn't mean your body wants to stay there. You will need to maintain that weight for quite some time before it becomes your new default setting. That’s why habits and behavioral changes are so fundamentally important when it comes to dieting. Without newly manifested and altered behaviors or replacement of poor habits with better ones, you will never sustain your initial weight loss.

Mistake #3: Sacrificing 20 kg To Lose 3 kg

For successful weight loss, you need to detach from your feelings and accept the long term scientific process.

Here is something you must accept: weight loss is nothing more than controlled starvation. Your body doesn’t want to change and has developed numerous battle-hardened defense mechanisms to maintain homeostasis. These evolutionary defences have been honed over millennia in order to ensure that you don't succumb to hunger and ultimately, death.
Once you’ve understood this, you will understand why aggressive dieting or crash dieting to lose those "last 3 kgs" is downright lunacy! You need to look beyond the 3 kgs and understand that you have to live the entirety of your life with your diet of choice. Don’t get hung up on labels - keto, vegan, intermittent fasting, low carb, high carb. Instead, make sure you choose a diet that you can live with. If not, you will most probably fail and be back where you started.

Some Final Thoughts

I know that right now, safe and sustained weight loss seems overwhelming. But I promise you this - it is 100% attainable. I won't lie to you, it is going to be stressful. In fact, for some of you who are reading this, it might be the hardest thing you ever do.

Adherence, behavioral change, sustainable habits take years, even decades to manifest. Building proficiency in anything requires time and patience and that includes dieting. You need to understand that when you decide to lose weight, it's always about the journey and the person you want to become through the process.

I hope this article illustrates that "quick fixes" do nothing except make weight loss harder. They can harm your metabolism and hamper your long-term success!
