Is It Possible to Lose Fat Without Dumbbells and Resistance Bands?
“The gyms are closed. I don’t have resistance bands or dumbbells. Can I still lose fat?” The quarantine has left people wondering whether it is possible to lose fat during this period when they can’t move out, do exercises, or even get equipment to workout at home. The answer is a big YES. You don’t have to put your fitness goals in the lockdown. The primary driver of the fat loss is calories deficit. Caloric deficit means eating fewer calories than you burn in a day. Wait, wait! I know you probably think that it’s impossible to burn more calories during the lockdown. You’re missing the bigger picture, more impactful part of the equation: CALORIES IN. This is actually the best time to work on your diet and build healthy habits. There are going to be no vacations, parties, events, festivals, etc. for at least next few weeks. Nutrition is king. If you get it right, you will get the other things right too probably. Anyways, you don’t burn many calories during the training. We don’t work out to lose fat but to build strength, stamina, endurance, mobility and muscles. The impact of exercise on fat loss is actually minimal. That being said, it is possible to do great workouts without any equipment at your disposal too. I have been doing that, and many elite athletes have been doing that as well. So, it’s time to take actions and get on track with your nutrition and training. It’s the first day of the new week and a perfect time to start a new routine. Start making small changes. It is as simple as just eating 100-200 calories lesser per day and adding more protein to your diet. Take one step at a time. Don’t over-complicate. Have a good day!
