Let’s burst one of the most common myths ‘Eat Healthy’ on this World Health Day.

We have often heard people saying ‘I eat healthy but don’t lose weight’. This is because we associate weight loss with eating certain types of foods like fruits, soups, salads etc. as they are considered healthy. While it’s true that these foods are definitely good for health. They provide us with micronutrients (nutrients required in very small amount) and help in maintaining good health. But the fitness level is improved by adjusting the macronutrients (nutrients required in large amount) as per the goal.

A good diet should consist of variety of food sources like proteins, fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy but if it’s possible to gain weight by just eating salads if you eat more calories than what you are burning in a day. Weight loss/gain is driven by one phenomenon: Energy Balance

It’s a good practice to eat healthy foods but in the right amount as per your goal :)
