Cable fly better than dumbbell fly?
YES! ✅ In my opinion, cable fly are far better than the dumbbell chest fly and here’s why - 1. Constant tension on the target muscles - During dumbbell chest fly the tension on the chest muscles is only during the second half of the motion. During the first half, the tension is mostly on your deltoids. However, in cable fly the tension is always on the pec muscles because of the cable pulling your arms against it. 2. Risk on injury - Heavier the dumbbells, higher chances of injury especially shoulder impingement. Plus, its very difficult to increase significant amount of loads in dumbbell chest fly. 3. More gains - Its comparatively easier to lift heavy weight on Lifting cable fly resulting in more training volume which in the end results in more strength and muscle gain. 4. Better mind muscle connection - In my experience, it’s difficult to build better mind to muscle connection in dumbbell fly compared to cable fly. This may be primarily because of the constant tension on the muscles. 5. Improved range of motion - When dumbbells get heavier, people tend to cheat on the Range of Motion. On the contrary, canle fly allows you to stretch chest muscle with greater range of motion. However, there are other accessory benefits of dumbbell fly. Its not that it is all bad. But I suggest you trying them both and see which works best for you. Try this is your next training session. Post your video here or on the group for form correction.
