You eat and you shit, but have you ever thought what happens to the food you eat inside your body before it’s converted to shit for real? Energy storage happens!

Your body gets calories (energy) from whatever you drink or eat in the form of different macronutrients. There are mainly 4 macronutrients that yield energy/calories -
1. Fat - 9 calories per gram of fat
2. Alcohol - 7 calories per gram of alcohol
3. Carbohydrate - 4 calories per gram of carbohydrate
4. Protein - 4 calories per gram of protein

For example - If you are eating 100 grams of rice (measured uncooked) in a meal with 50 grams of beans (measured uncooked) and you used 10 grams of oils to cook your beans then the macronutrient break down will look like this -

Rice 100 grams
Fats 1 grams = 1 x 9 = 9 calories
Carbohydrates 80 grams = 80 x 4 = 320 calories
Protein 7 grams = 7 x 4 = 28 calories
Total calories = 9 + 320 + 28 = 357 calories

Beans 50 grams
Fats 0.4 grams = .4 x 9 = 3.6 calories
Carbohydrates 30 grams = 30 x 4 = 120 calories
Protein 12 grams = 12 x 4 = 48 calories
Total calories = 3.6 + 120 + 48 = 171.6 calories

Oils 10 grams
Fats 10 grams = 10 x 9 = 90 calories
Carbohydrates 0 grams = 0 calories
Protein 0 grams = 0 calories
Total calories = 90 calories

Total calorie intake for that meal = 357 + 171.6 + 90 = 618.6 Calories
