Fat burners are one of the most used/bought/sold supplements.

Much of the ingredients in most fat burners (green tea extract, raspberry ketones, caffeine, cayenne pepper extract, etc.) have very little or no human trials, and their effects are not even verified on fat loss. Also, supplements like L-Carnitine have been shown in studies to impact positively, or no impact on fat loss relative to control (the effect was minimal) and to state the obvious, groups was CALORICALLY RESTRICTED. This said the dosages of L-Carnitine for weight loss effect is claimed to be in between 2000-4000mg, vastly more than found in the majority of fat burners on the market if it’s included at all, which likely it isn’t. And again, to state, this doesn’t negate the necessity of calorie restriction if trying to lose weight by any means. Whatever the companies and local guy in the gym tell you about the fat burners and their benefits, science has a different take on it. It is just a marketing gimmick and has no concrete evidence to date to back it up. Here’s a word of caution, if you already got the fat burner. Generally, it has high amounts of stimulants (like caffeine), which, if you are not used to, can make you restless and, at the same time, interfere with your sleep if you are taking it in the evening.
