PROCESSED FOOD AND EXCESS CALORIES CONSUMPTION
Balivada Sravan Kumar
I often hear people saying I am eating more than what I used to eat, am I going to lose the weight or not. Are you one of them who feels this when following a diet? Let’s consider a few examples to explain this. A regular pizza slice will have around 500 calories and there is a high chance of overeating this whereas for the same calories you can have 60 grams of rice, 150 grams of chicken breast and 10 grams of ghee. The satiety of the mixed unprocessed meals will be higher than the processed food which will keep you full. There is a high chance of overeating processed which leads to excess calories consumption that ultimately leads to weight gain. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 The practical take away is, it is always easy to over-eat processed food as they are highly calorie-dense. It’s not the processed food that makes you gain weight, but the excess of calories you hit by eating them will make you gain. Hence, sticking to unprocessed food might help you not to overeat helping you maintaining a deficit.
