All About Shoulder Pain Rehab!!
Tell me the activities of daily living which does not involve shoulder movements?? Almost 90% of our routine needs shoulder mobility, shoulder is a complex joint who mainly act as a mobiliser. Many of the athletes and sportsmen/women know, shoulder injuries can be a serious deal. They are extremely painful which limits our movements altering our quality of life. There is a group of 4 muscles known as Rotator cuff(RC), which involves supraspinatus, infraspinatus, trees minor and subscapularis. The main function of the rotator cuff is to provide stability to the joint while performing dynamic movements such as overhead activity. RC can be injured due to repeated shoulder overhead activity usually seen in fast bowlers, heavy lifting in shoulder external rotation such as in bench press or it can be a traumatic injury such as falling on the arm. Ageing also increases the risk of degenerative changes leading to RC tear.
