These bacteria helps create an optimal enviroment for the digestion of food and nutrition absorption. The average adult eats around 18 grams of fibre, while the recommended daily intake is sitting around atleast 30 grams (depending on the individual). Studies have shown that fibre lowers cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and therefore reducing the risks of diabetes and heart diseases, as well as bowel cancer. Fibre is easily incorporated in diets as the food sources are typically accessible and cheap.
