L-Arginine and L-Citrulline

* L-Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid, athletes use it because it directly produces nitric oxide which helps in vasodilation, i.e it helps in increasing blood flow. Increasing blood flow delivers more oxygen to exercising muscles and fuel. * L- Arginine is thought to improve athletes’ performance as it produces but nitric oxide in body, but unfortunately researches doesn’t support it much. What can be inferred from the available researches that intestines don’t absorb L-Arginine properly. * L- Citrulline is a compound which is converted into L-arginine in Kidneys. Citrulline increases levels of plasma arginine more than L-Arginine itself. Hence L-Citrulline supplementation is considered better than L-Arginine itself.
