The power of visualisation
“I want to look like Hritik Roshan/Kareena Kapoor" is a much better goal than "I want to lose 5 kgs". Yes I know the first one is non quantifiable while the second one, but hear me out. Becoming the fittest version of yourself is like directing a movie and movie direction is not just about hero killing the villain. The sheer depth required to understand each character, to set up the backdrop, to understand visual cues that will excite the audience, the sound, the narrative, it's an exhaustive process. But it all starts with visualisation. The director knows in his head what the end result would look like. The story, the characters, everything is already there in inside his head, he just have to work to match the visuals in his head to reality. Imagine if he created a movie without having any actual visual insight into what he's making. He'll just keep doing things. Let's be clear that even though he might be following every process to the T, the end product will never look good. In a similar manner, when you start your journey( not just fitness) even though you may work hard, follow every single rule laid out by our wise people, you'll not get where you'd want to. What good is a 5kg/10kg weight loss if you don't know what's the end result? Visualisation is a powerful tool, it allows you to create a perfect version of yourself so you can start working along those lines. It's much more holistic than just a number. Look, your life is a movie, and you can direct it however you want. But if you don't know what character you are or what your story is going to look like, you'd end up creating something people won't understand and even you won't understand. You've to start looking at yourself as a lead character who would look a certain way, talk a certain way, dress a certain way, do things a certain way, will have a story filled with drama, action, hard-work, passion, emotions, and what not. Because rest assure that if you don't do it, you'll end up being an extra in someone else's movie!
