Getting bored with same routine?
Stay focused ======================================= I get to meet an international weightlifting coach and as our discussion going on, I asked one question what is the difference between successful/ accomplished athlete and those who are not able to make it yet . His answer was as usual like genetics, talent, luck which I was expecting then he told me one thing which took me by surprise, he said: " At some point, it comes down to who can handle the boredom of the same lifts". Many successful people feel the same lack of motivation as everyone else but the difference is despite this they manage to show up despite this feeling. Boredom is perhaps the greatest villain on the quest of self-improvement. Mastery requires practice and as you do some more frequently it becomes routine. Once the beginner gains are made and we learn what to expect our interest started to fade. The outcome becomes expected as the habit becomes ordinary, we start derailing our progress to seek novelty perhaps that is why we end up in a never-ending cycle of one diet to another, one workout to another, one coach to another. As soon as we experience the slightest drop in motivation we start seeking new strategy whereas the earlier was working fine . Someone rightly said this -" Men desire novelty to such an extent, that those who are doing well want to change as much who are doing badly. Now you know the problem then what's the solution - you need to stick to the plans every day no matter how painful, difficult it is for you. If something can improve the quality of life then why not stick to it. You need to fall in love with that boredom and with that ordinary routine. Let me know what you think about it . Cheers!!
