Can you eat anything you want and be Healthy?

IIFYM( If It Fits Your Macros) ======================== Recently I have seen a trend where people are trying to fit things in their macros because at the end of the day it’s the Calories that matter right? Yeah, it does if the goal is to just lose or gain weight . But if your Goal is Fitness, it means a better Body Composition( more muscles, less fat) and not just weight loss or weight gain Few Points: - You need to have enough protein ( 1.8 -2 gms per kg of your lean body weight) along with strength training - Protein needs to come mostly from solid food items and not just protein shakes. Use supplement only as a supplement not like main food item - You need to ensure your favourite food item is not making you skip any meal because it has way too many Calories - Focus on satiety and not taste. Taste will last only for a while - It is easy to get deviated from diet if we tend to include items like Burger, Pizza, donuts etc - Calorie estimation could go very wrong for junk food items or desserts - You should develop a healthy relationship with food and your behaviour towards it. If a diet is not helping you overcome your weaknesses, it is not going to help you in long run. No, you need not quit anything but moderation is the key - Just because a Caloric deficit diet filled with junk made you lose weight doesn’t mean it is Healthy. Pick your goal: Health or weight loss?
